Windows Live Messenger which is popularly known as also Windows Live Messenger 9, has a colorful design, in an all new interface. Earlier we had written about how you can download Windows Live Messenger 8.5. Now Windows Live Messenger has been bundled together with Windows Live Essentials.

The look and feel of  Windows Live Messenger 9 can be customized by choosing your own theme and color scheme. Moreover, it offers plenty of emoticons and winks to cheer up your conversations. You can expand both collections easily by adding new sets which you may find on the Internet. Customization possibilities include changing the chat window background or even adding a personal message to your nickname, but not creating custom status messages. Also, status messages have now been reduced to “online“, “away” or “busy“.

Apart from Chat conversations, you can even have video chats using your webcam, and also make VoIP calls. Another great feature is the possibility to view and share pictures within the chat window, without having to send files over to your contact.

* In Windows Live Messenger 9, you can draw or hand-write your messages.
* You can sign in to Windows Live Messenger on multiple devices or computers at the same time. For example, if you’re already signed in to Messenger on a computer, you can sign in on a mobile device or on another computer without having to sign out on the first computer. You can also sign in to Messenger on your computer and on the web at the same time.
* You can send files to a contact (Your contacts are the people that you’ve set up to communicate with using instant messaging.) one file at a time. To send files, both you and your contact must have Windows XP or Windows Vista and Windows Live Messenger 8.0 or a later version installed.
